Homeschooling – Week 3 Review

by shara.anderson on September 6, 2012

Wow!  Week 3 of school has come and gone already!!

We are really enjoying My Father’s World!

Here’s what we’ve been up to.

Science experiment:

Step 1 – Fill a cup with water:  Check.

Put a piece of cardboard on top:  Check.

Turn upside down:  Check.

Proceed to have water all over yourself, the floor and the counter:  Check.

Persevere and try with a much smaller and less heavy piece of cardboard…SUCCESS!

What do preschoolers do while the others are working on school??

They arrange all of their animals on the VCR, of course.

Getting ready to make french toast for breakfast.  Addie asks, “What do I do??”

Getting it down.  Good job Addie!

We have been learning that names have meanings.  Jesus means “the Lord saves”.  We made crayon shaving Jesus pictures today.

Making the crayon shavings.

Sprinkling the shavings on cut out construction paper letters spelling J-E-S-U-S that is on wax paper.

Cover with another piece of wax paper, and cover with newspaper and iron until the shavings melt.

Wa – Lah!!

“Mom, I want to make a funny face!!”

(Cade and Ella really were present for school this week too.:))

Once again, the most impressive thing (to me) came from the kids having free-time to pursue their interests.  This is what Ella started without any prompting from me.  I LOVE stuff like this!  I can’t wait to see what she fills it with!

Blessings on your week!
