Snapshots

by shara.anderson on September 10, 2012

I was talking to a friend that I hadn’t seen for months since they moved several hours away.  We chatted about how things were for each of us.  We talked candidly about our parenting struggles.  She said she had been reading my blog and that I just had everything “so together”.

Oh my, she needs to stop by some time!!  I suppose it is in my nature to show you a picture like this:

rather than this:

Both are very much a part of my life though.

And my counter this morning…

Yes, that is an unsent bill, SOME of the chicken taken off the bone, pens that are in the process of being cleaned from an ink spill mishap (which was discovered while dealing with the chicken), Mountain Dew that isn’t healthy, and a really lovely saucepan with half the paint missing.

And poor Sawyer who has been in his high chair far too long with a pink bib on!

Snapshots.  That’s all we see of someone that writes a blog post.  Don’t forget that they can show you whatever they choose and want you to believe about them.  I’ve often made the mistake of comparing my worst to another person’s snapshot.

So, if it’s an encouragement to you…the picture of my counter is probably more accurate of our days around here than many of the other “cleaned up” pictures.

Life is messy and that’s ok.

Blessings to you!
